Our target
Vocaic aims for WCAG 2.2 Level AA: semantic structure, keyboard-operable controls, visible focus, readable contrast, responsive reflow, text feedback for form errors, captions or transcripts for speech, and reduced-motion support. Motion on this site is disabled when your device requests reduced motion, and the static state hides nothing. This is a target we work toward, not a claim that every part of the site already conforms.
Multimodal by design
The product thesis is itself accessible: every message exists as both voice and text, so audio always has a readable version and typing is always available where speaking is not practical. Every film and the narrated guide include synced captions. Because browser voice quality and speech recognition differ by device, Vocaic always keeps an editable text path.
Known limitations
As an early product, some areas are still improving: live speech recognition depends on your browser and can miss words; machine translation and synthetic speech can be imperfect; and some dense visuals and animated demos are decorative and marked so assistive technology can skip them. We prioritise fixes that affect getting a message understood.
Request assistance and give feedback
If a page, form, room, film or document is difficult to use, email agarw574@purdue.edu with the page, what you were trying to do, and your preferred accessible format. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis. We treat accessibility feedback as a priority.
